Personal data

SunSim does not ask you for any information: no account, no form. Your configuration (power, consumption, saved profiles, light/dark theme) is processed and stored only in your browser (local storage) and is never sent to our servers.

Enedis consumption file: it is read and analysed entirely by your browser, on your device. Neither the file nor its content is sent to any server, whether ours or a third party’s, and the file is not kept: only the average hourly profile derived from it is used for the simulation (and stored in your browser only if you save your profile).

As with any website, the host Vercel Inc. (United States) receives your IP address and your browser’s technical information when you visit the site. It processes this traffic data on its own behalf (operation and security of its service), in accordance with its privacy notice.

To know how many people visit the site, we use Vercel Web Analytics. Without cookies, this tool records the page viewed, the referring site, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location (country, region, city). Visits are told apart for no more than 24 hours using a technical fingerprint computed from the request, which is then deleted; we only look at aggregated statistics, which cannot identify you.

Audience measurement — data controller: the site publisher; purpose: knowing how many people visit the site; legal basis: the publisher’s legitimate interest; recipient: Vercel Inc., which provides the tool. Vercel is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which governs the transfer of this data to the United States.

You have the right of access, objection and erasure, which you can exercise at the contact address above, and the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

Third-party services contacted by your browser

Some features rely on external services. When you use them, your browser contacts them directly: they therefore receive your IP address and what you enter or display (and are subject to their own privacy rules):

• Base Adresse Nationale, the French national address database (api-adresse.data.gouv.fr): address search and autocomplete.
• ADEME, the French agency for ecological transition (data.ademe.fr): directory of RGE installers; only your location, rounded to about 1 km, is sent to it.
• OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org): base maps ("Map" tab and installer directory).
• Esri / ArcGIS (server.arcgisonline.com): satellite view in the roof orientation helper.

Solar data

Solar production estimates are based on NASA CERES EBAF data (resolution ~111 km, period 2000-2023). This data is provided for information only and does not constitute a contractual commitment. Actual results may vary depending on local conditions (shading, weather, quality of the installation).

Terms of use

SunSim is a free simulation tool for educational purposes. By using it, you accept that the results are only estimates, with no contractual value, and that the service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. You remain solely responsible for how you use it.

The brands, models and prices mentioned are indicative, are neither a recommendation nor a commercial offer, and may differ from market prices.

Limitation of liability

The results come from simplified models (sun position, air mass, NASA CERES irradiance, typical summer and winter days) and may have a margin of error of ±10 to 15% compared with actual production. The prices shown are indicative and may change.

This tool is not a substitute for a professional technical survey carried out by a qualified installer. The publisher cannot be held liable for decisions made on the basis of the simulation results.
